The Loved One

The newest edition, custom embroidered veils

As most of you know by now, Elliot and I got engaged in September.  Since then I haven’t just been building the most epic Pinterest boards/saved Instagram folders, but actually planning and building our wedding. Since Bride Brain is now all consuming for me these days, I thought I would share parts of this journey with you, in a new segment I’m calling Wedding Wednesdays.  These posts will focus on vendors, trends and showcase some of the elements I find interesting or would like to incorporate into our special day.

The Loved One’s shared space with Blush & Bowties

For the first Wedding Wednesday, I wanted to share a brand that I have had heart-eyes for ever since I first saw them in WedLuxe Magazine.  The Loved One, is a Toronto based accessory label.  Antonia, the soft spoken sweetheart behind The Loved One, is the creator and curator of beautiful hand made pieces, most of which are fully customizable.  After becoming frustrated with the selection she found while a bride herself, Antonia realized that there was something missing in the bridal market - custom, original and truly beautiful pieces for every style of bride.

I found The Love One, after buying my first batch of wedding magazines, when I was newly engaged.  I saw these truly stunning statement earrings made of almost fibers of gold and shimmering crystals that were just cascading down the model bride’s neck.  I instantly became obsessed.  A few months ago Elliot and I went to The Wedding Co. Bridal Market, and a featured booth was The Loved One!  I was so excited to see everything in person and the obsession just got worse.

I had the opportunity to check out Antonia’s Toronto showroom and see more of her exquisite pieces in person.  I was also one of the lucky winners of an Instagram contest she held after the Bridal Market, so I was more than happy to pick up my prize in person!

By appointment, you can have a one-on-one with Antonia and discuss your wedding look and aesthetic.  The Loved One, is also the exclusive Canadian carrier of several brands.  Edera Jewelry - A Vermont based label offering crocheted sterling and gold thread with vintage beads, pearls and crystals.  Margaret Rowe - a Santa Monica label of red carpet jewellery.  And Stephanie Browne - a Melbourne based label of high quality statement pieces.

Not only can you customize the name sake’s core collection to meet your needs, The Love One, also offers a Queen Bee collection that gives 20% of the proceeds of the sale of any Queen Bee pieces to the Canadian Honey Council’s Save Our Bees fund!

When I was hanging out with Antonia we chatted about Project Runway, drinking at events and Italian weddings.  I had a wonderful time talking about possible customization for my Flora earrings, which are THE earrings I am planning on wearing for my reception look, on my wedding day.  Yes, I plan on having two looks!  I’m honoured to be a future The Loved One bride, and to wear a local brand that works with it’s brides, that gives back and has the nicest designer at it’s helm.
