Bathing Belle In Dominican Republic

It’s been two months since Elliot and I got back from the Dominican Republic and we are finally getting around to putting together our photos from the trip!

As promised I’m revealing the custom swimwear that I had design and made by Danica from Bathing Belle Swimwear.  I’m obsessed with this suit!  Not only does it fit me perfectly, the colouring is beautiful, (umm, hi, it has gold pineapples all over it!) and it can be converted into so many styles.  Danica was amazing at giving me different options to style and wear my suit, all included with my initial design.

I love having strapless options when at the beach, because I hate tan lines.  That being said, I make an exception for the cute little cutout under the bust.  It’s sexy and playful, but not over done.  Danica gathered the bust to make it more fitted to my body and avoid what she referred to as “sausage tits”.  Not the biggest fan of gathering at seams, I had to let Danica take the wheel and give her my trust, and I’m so glad I did.  The bust sat so well, I never had any slips and the gathering actually gave it so much more interest.  Once I realized how great the gathering looked I asked for a little tie to be made of the same fabric.  This added to the gathering at the center of the bust, creating a slight sweetheart effect, without the addition of straps from the other looks.

For a little nod to 70s styling I fell in love with the idea of the skinny halter tie.  It helps show off a little more skin, and gathers the bust a little more at the center.  I also love that the ties at the legs can be gathered to match the bust, or left down, with the same skinny ties as the halter.  Little touches like these make the experience with Bathing Belle so worth the price.

For the last look and one with a little retro flare, I had a thicker halter strap made to wear when in the waves.  By putting the ties at the legs down, the suit has more of a “short” or fuller coverage cut, which only pushes the pin up feel to 100%!

Not only does Bathing Belle produce awesome swimsuits, but they also make custom coverups!  When I was waiting at the boutique for my consultation, I had some time to poke around and found this unique overall coverup.  During my fitting to figure out my size I tried on the one in what seemed like my size, but it was just a little off what I needed.  Danica mention she could make me one that would fit perfectly!  I lived in this coverup while in Punta Cana.  From breakfast before sunbathing, to hot walks around the resort, it was a vacation staple.

This was our second time to an all-inclusive together, and by far the best experience!  Not only was this trip relaxing, sun and sand filled, but it was also an experience of a lifetime since Elliot surprised me and proposed!  We’re getting married!  If you follow me on Instagram, you may have already seen some photos from the day, but I’m also sharing them here.

After shooting my Bathing Belle suit, Elliot asked that we take a photo together on the beach.  As he set up the timer and framing up the shot, I stood in frame for him.  He asked me to turn around and face the water and unknowingly to me, he was preparing to get down on his knee and ask me to go on our greatest adventure yet - to spend our lives together in love!  This was a trip that I will never forget and my custom suit is a happy souvenir for our time in Punta Cana.

I just want to say a huge thanks to Danica and Jennifer at Bathing Belle Swimwear for creating these perfect pieces, that I will always hold so dear in my heart and for making me feel so beautiful in photos that I will cherish forever!  Please check out Bathing Belle Swimwear for all your swimwear needs!  The service is fast, specialized and personal.  They truly care and produce amazing one of a kind pieces and I cannot say enough good things about them!
