My [Borrowed] Pet Monster

, you already know that I’ve been dog sitting this week.  My best friend Sean and his partner Josh headed out on a summer road trip and needed someone to take care of their adorable dog, Max.  I’ve sat for them before, when he was just a baby, but that was only for a couple of nights.  This time I get the little monster for over a week and a half!

Max when he was just a puppy.  That face!

Lately I’ve been feeling my biological clock ticking for a fur baby of my own.  I’ve never wanted children, but I do want a dog.  Lately the want has become more and more of a need.  I thought this Max-stay-cation would be a nice crash course in convincing my bf that we should make the commitment to a lil’ baby (said in the voice of Linda of Bob’s Burgers) of our own.

Max is a Brussels Griffon/Pug mix.  He’s super playful and loves to chew.  He is a little gentleman though, and doesn’t chew shoes (very happy for that!).  Since he does spend most of his time around men, he instantly gravitated towards the bf.  I would be lying if I said I wasn’t completely jealous.  He may love the rough and tumble Elliot offers, with tug-o-wars and runs, but nothing tops our snuggles and epic chin/belly scratches.

So I might not be super productive this next week, but I will be enjoying all the furry love I can squeeze out of this tiny guy before I (most likely forcibly) have to give him back.
