What was Project Runway Canada (PRC) like?

It was honestly one of the most stressful, crazy experiences of my life, but worth every second.  I learned a lot about myself, my capabilities and skills.  I was oddly very comfortable with being on camera and I would do it all over again, given the chance.

Where did you go to school?

I graduated from Ryerson University in 2006 with a BA in Design - Fashion Design.

What camera/software do you use?

I am a very lucky girl, because my amazing boyfriend is my photographer and editor.  He uses a Sony Full Frame Alpha 99 camera.  He uses a combination of Photoshop and Lightroom for photo editing, as well as Premiere Pro and After Effects for video editing. All photography and video by Elliot Parrott Photography unless otherwise stated.

I haven’t seen your collections lately, do you still design?

Yes!  I have recently stepped away from creating larger collections/runway presentations.  At the moment I am focusing on custom work, with private clients.  I also have an accessory line, called Covet By Biffi.  I am working on the next installment coming soon.

Why do you design straight and plus size clothing?

I love fashion in all of it’s forms.  And truthfully I would love to see Jessica Biffi on everyone.  I started with straight sizes because I was building off of the momentum of PRC.  When I was asked to design for Addition Elle and Penningtons, I jumped at the chance to bring Jessica Biffi to the plus size customer.  As a plus woman myself, I saw the void and wanted to bring what I knew was missing.

I loved your Addition Elle collections, are you doing more with them?

The Jessica Biffi collections for Addition Elle and Penningtons were only capsule collections.  They were very successful, which lead me to doing a second season with AE.  At the moment I am not working with these brands, but who knows what the future holds.

Do you still design plus size clothing?

I am currently working on a new plus size line.  It is still coming together in the beginning stages, but keep an eye out for more information to come.

Where do you shop and what size are you?

Truthfully I shop everywhere and anywhere.  I have a bit of a shopping problem.  Check out the list below for some of my favourites.  I do also make and alter things for myself.  I have ranged everywhere from an 18 to a 24.  I fluctuate based on store and fit, but generally I'm a 22/24.
